Charles Beck, Vice President / Director for Radio
Minimize

Charles oversees the programming and daily operations of the MPBN radio service. He enjoys and is dedicated to helping to ensure that both the radio and television services of MPBN provide valuable trusted services for its members, viewers and listeners, knowing that these unique services are more important than ever in our rapidly changing and complex world and when other broadcast entities are not as focused on public service and quality as they once were. He has been working in various on-air and management capacities (primarily radio) at MPBN since 1980, having worked in commercial radio before that. Charles enjoys hosting classical music programs whenever possible.

Charles was born in Dearborn, Michigan and has lived in Maine since 1973; before that he resided in Michigan, New Jersey, and in Europe (Italy and Sweden). He holds Bachelors' degrees in Music and Broadcasting from the University of Maine, and a Master's degree in Communication from Indiana State. Charles has taught several introductory broadcasting courses at the University of Maine. He resides in Belfast and has two almost totally incredible sons, Forrest and Carson.
