A love of both radio and non-profits makes Dianna Benner a perfect fit at MPBN, where she’s been our Sunday afternoon announcer since the fall of 2006. Dianna previously worked in radio full-time as a news reporter for eight years (six of them as news director) at WRKD-AM and WMCM-FM, covering Rockland’s city council, school board, local court cases and more. A native of Damariscotta, she has a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Maine in Orono, and she has also worked part-time for WQCB-FM and WEZQ-FM, two commercial radio stations serving the Bangor-Brewer market.
Outside of MPBN, Dianna works for a social service agency helping people in need in Penobscot and Piscataquis counties. She also worked for nine years as a public relations director for the Eastern Agency on Aging and has read newspaper articles for Maine AIRS, a service for the blind and visually-impaired that can be heard each morning on MPBN Television by accessing MPBN’s secondary audio program channel.
When she’s not working in radio or as a social worker, Dianna enjoys cycling, cross-country skiing and raising her teenage daughter.
