Susan is the Deputy News Director at MPBN as well as a general assignment reporter who has covered stories in depth from all corners of the state. Over the past decade she's been on the front lines of the work stoppage against Irving Woodlands, protests over living and working conditions at the former Decoster Egg Farm, and the investigation into the arsenic poisoning at a church in New Sweden. She's covered the State House, traversed Maine's woodlands by air and on the ground, ridden on a garbage truck with trash handlers in South Portland and spent the night in a homeless shelter in Bangor. Her investigative series into independent contractors in the construction industry and her coverage of the Bath Iron Works strike received national awards from the Public Radio News Directors Inc. She has also won numerous local awards from the Maine Association of Broadcasters and the Associated Press.

Susan grew up in New York State and has a Bachelor's degree in Radio and Television from the University of Montana. She's worked as a television anchor, reporter and assignment editor and had brief stints in Virginia as a legal assistant and in public relations. Susan began working for MPBN in 1992.
