MPBN Coming to Calais to Discuss Public Broadcasting in Maine
The Maine Public Broadcasting Network is holding a series of town meetings across the state to obtain feedback about the public’s media consumption habits and how they might be changing over time.
One such meeting is being held in Brunswick on Monday June 22 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 p.m. in the Lancaster Lounge, Moulton Union at Bowdoin College.
“It is important to hear what our listeners and viewers want as we plan for the future in these uncertain economic times,” said MPBN President and CEO Jim Dowe. “We want to be sure that in five years, ten years, MPBN remains as relevant to the lives of Maine people as it is today, ideally even more so. These meetings offer the public a chance to tell us what they’re going to want from MPBN which will assist us in providing a clear signal for the future.”
The Brunswick town meeting is the next in an ongoing initiative that MPBN has been pursuing over the past several years. Public input from the meetings will be reviewed by MPBN’s staff and Board of Trustees and will assist MPBN in allocating limited public broadcasting resources in the most impactful manner possible in the months and years ahead.
