Maine Public Broadcasting Network to Carry Live BBC Coverage of Royal Wedding
(LEWISTON, Maine) – Through an exclusive arrangement with the BBC, MPBN is able to broadcast full live coverage of the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton beginning at 3:00 am on Friday, April 29th.
"This is one of the most anticipated events of the century, and we're excited to be a part of it." said MPBN president Jim Dowe. "We have a long history of sharing programming with the BBC. Their World News coverage has been a well-received addition to our news and public affairs line up on both television and radio. Furthermore, the British comedies and dramas we air weekly have been among our most watched programs for decades. Other media outlets will of course be covering the Royal Wedding, but only MPBN will broadcast the official coverage from the BBC."
MPBN Television will carry full live coverage of the Royal Wedding at Westminster Abbey, and the procession back to Buckingham Palace beginning at 3:00 am EDT on Friday, April 29. The coverage is expected to last 5 1/2 hours. For the convenience of our viewers, the entire program will be rebroadcast the following day, Saturday, April 30 from 6:15 am to noon.
