MPBN News Begins Year-Long Climate Change Exploration Series

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network announces a year-long investigative news initiative on MPBN Radio and MPBN digital media titled Beyond 350 – Confronting Climate Change. The MPBN News team will examine what citizens, communities, businesses, and state agencies are doing to plan and adapt for climate change, both large and small, and what challenges lie ahead for the state of Maine and beyond.

MPBN Journalists Win Prestigious National Award

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network announces that The Society of Professional Journalists has recognized and awarded three MPBN staff journalists with a Sigma Delta Chi Award. Judges selected 85 honorees from more than 1,600 submissions. Entries included selections from television and radio broadcasts, newspapers, online news outlets and magazines from across the nation.

MPBN Super Thursday One-Day Radio Pledge Set For April 30

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network announces a one-day Super Thursday Radio Pledge Drive slated for Thursday, April 30. This particular pledge is themed to encourage listeners and followers to become "A Big Deal in Maine" by supporting MPBN Radio during this drive. Individuals becoming an MPBN Evergreen Member or existing Evergreen Members who provide additional support will receive a limited edition MPBN Evergreen Friend T-shirt.

MPBN Announces New Feature on Morning Classical Program

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network announces the addition of a new monthly feature on its Morning Classical radio program starting this May. A week leading up to the first Friday of each month, MPBN and Morning Classical host Robin Rilette will give their classical music audience the opportunity to weigh in on music by two composers and choose which is the superior piece or performance.

MPBN to Feature Public Screenings of the Last Days in Vietnam across Maine

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network and the Maine Humanities Council are partnering on a series of public screenings of the American Experience film, Last Days in Vietnam throughout the month of April. Each screening will be followed by a moderated discussion of the documentary. Tickets are free to the public, but quantities are limited at each designated venue, and must be secured in advance.
