MPBN and LWVME Partner On Free Film Screening of Documentary On Income Inequality

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network (MPBN) and the League of Women Voters of Maine (LWVME) announce that they are partnering on two free public screenings of Park Avenue: Money, Power and the American Dream, a provocative film about wealth, poverty and political power in the United States. The screenings take place on Saturday, March 9th from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm in two Maine locations, Portland and Bangor.

MPBN Announces April Music Initiative Across Maine

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network announces the launch of “Music That Moves ME,” a month-long celebration of music in Maine starting April 1st and lasting the entire month. April is NPR’s Music on Public Radio Month and MPBN has created a number of Maine-specific initiatives to raise up awareness of MPBN’s role in delivering quality musical programming to Maine.

The awards recognize work of the highest quality produced by radio, television and online news organizations around the world.

The opening of Maine Public Broadcasting’s Maine Arts! Series was recognized with an Emmy at the 36th Annual New England Emmy Awards on June 1st. The black and white silent film opening, created and written by Executive Producer Suzanne Nance, was recognized specifically for the editing by Tonee Harbert. Harbert also directed and filmed the opening.

MPBN’s Suzanne Nance Moving to Chicago Classical Station

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network announces the upcoming departure of Morning Classical host Suzanne Nance. Nance has accepted a position at 98.7WFMT, a commercial classical radio station in Chicago. Nance will remain with MPBN through the end of August.
