The Maine Public Broadcasting Network announces the launch of “Music That Moves ME,” a month-long celebration of music in Maine starting April 1st and lasting the entire month. April is NPR’s Music on Public Radio Month and MPBN has created a number of Maine-specific initiatives to raise up awareness of MPBN’s role in delivering quality musical programming to Maine.

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network announces the results of an independent annual national survey that evaluated sources of educational programming for children. PBS and its member stations were ranked first in trust among nationally known institutions with content geared for children.

Bob Lorenz, an organic gardener from Sidney, Maine, picked up his brand new Honda Fit on Wednesday from Lee Auto Mall in Auburn after being chosen at random as the winner of the Maine Public Broadcasting Network’s third annual “Life is Better with MPBN” contest.

A serious problem developed last week with MPBN's WMED-FM transmitter in Calais according to Senior Techincal Officer & Senior Vice President Gil Maxwell.

MPBN is running at reduced power due to a problem with the antenna mounted at the top of the tower. Maxwell says, "assement crews have determined that the antenna will need to be removed from the tower and repaired, hopefully at the site."

In response to the concerns of its listeners, viewers, stakeholders, the governor and legislators, the Maine Public Broadcasting Network (MPBN) has rescinded its plans to limit radio and television transmissions to the eastern and northern counties of the state.
