MPBN Tries Novel Approach for Upcoming Radio Pledge Drive |
 The Maine Public Broadcasting Network is hoping that an abbreviated but highly publicized radio pledge drive will galvanize enough existing, former and potential first-time donors to pledge as much in donations in a single day as MPBN usually takes a week to raise.
On Thursday, October 20, beginning at 5:00 a.m., MPBN will conduct what it hopes will be the shortest radio membership drive in its history, seeking at least 2,600 individual pledges over 18 hours, either by phone or online through its web site. MPBN Retracts Release of Arbitron Ratings Data |
 The Maine Public Broadcasting Network has issued a retraction of its release and citation earlier this week of proprietary ratings estimates for commercial radio stations in the Portland and Bangor markets. The estimates are the copyrighted property of Arbitron, Inc., and the data was provided outside of the terms of the agreement and license to which MPBN subscribes. |

 The Maine Association of Broadcasters announced the recipients of the 2012 MAB News and Creative Awards at the MAB convention in Bangor honoring the best of Maine broadcasting.
