MPBN and USDA Rural Development Unveil Plans for $750,000 Grant Award

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network and the USDA Rural Development will share plans for critical upgrades to infrastructure which is being funded by a USDA Rural Development grant of $750,000. This "open house" event will take place at the Maine Public Broadcasting Network Studios at 63 Texas Avenue, Bangor on Tuesday, January 29th at 10 a.m.

MPBN Joins #GivingTuesday Launch

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network announces its participation in the #GivingTuesday initiative, a movement designed to create a national day of giving on November 27, 2012, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. #GivingTuesday’s goal is to leverage the power of social media to create a national movement dedicated to giving as an antithesis to Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This is the launch year for the project.

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network is announcing the creation of a resource line formed for households in conflict Sunday, January 20 between watching the end of the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens game and the airing of Episode 3 of Season 3 of Downton Abbey. The automated line – 207-330-4549 – will direct callers to alternate viewing times of the show.

The 35th Boston/New England Emmy Award nominations have been announced, and five programs from the Maine Public Broadcasting Network garnered nominations. The Boston/New England Emmy Awards recognize the best work being done in Television throughout Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Upstate New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.
