MPBN to Feature Public Screenings of the Last Days in Vietnam across Maine

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network and the Maine Humanities Council are partnering on a series of public screenings of the American Experience film, Last Days in Vietnam throughout the month of April. Each screening will be followed by a moderated discussion of the documentary. Tickets are free to the public, but quantities are limited at each designated venue, and must be secured in advance.

MPBN Announces Super Saturday Pledge Drive Results

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network announces that its one-day “Super Saturday Pledge Drive” held on Saturday, February 7 outperformed expectations, exceeding the drive’s financial target and membership registration goals. The Super Saturday drive resulted in over $108,000 raised for the non-profit public broadcaster and the addition of 223 new supporting members.

MPBN announces the launch of the Jim Dowe Public Media Internships

The Maine Public Broadcasting Network announces the launch of the Jim Dowe Public Media Internships, an internship program created in memory of former MPBN President and CEO Jim Dowe. With the support of Bangor Savings Bank, the Libra Foundation, and Bath Savings Institution and through private individual support from friends of Dowe, MPBN organized the Jim Dowe Internship Fund at Maine Public Broadcasting with the expressed purpose of inspiring and developing the next generation of journalists and broadcasters and fostering their commitment to public service.
