PORTLAND, Maine (AP) _ An advertising executive and new media manager from the Boston Globe has been named chief executive officer of MaineToday Media.
MaineToday said Tuesday that 49-year-old Lisa DeSisto begins her new job on Nov. 19 as CEO of MaineToday.com and publisher of The Portland Press Herald and Maine Sunday Telegram, the Kennebec Journal in Augusta, the Morning Sentinel in Waterville and the weekly Coastal Journal in Bath.
MaineToday quoted her as saying she sees the new job as a chance to use her experience in Boston to lead an expansion of digital services and revenues at MaineToday.
Donald Sussman, majority owner, said hiring puts the company in ``strong, experienced, honorable hands.'' In Boston, she was chief advertising officer of Boston Globe Media and the general manager of Boston.com.
