| 2 Maine GOP Incumbents Request Recounts |

| Two Republican incumbent state representatives are asking for recounts in Maine House Districts 54 and 45 races. |

WATERVILLE, Maine (AP) _ Two Republican incumbent state representatives who narrowly lost their re-election bids have asked for a recount.
The Morning Sentinel reports that the secretary of state's office announced Tuesday that Susan Morissette of Winslow asked for a recount in House District 54 after losing by 34 votes to Democrat Catherine Nadeau of Winslow. The district includes part of Benton.
Ryan Harmon of Palermo lost by 33 votes to Democrat Brian Jones of Freedom in House District 45. The district also includes Burnham, Knox, Montville, Thorndike, Troy and Unity.
Those recounts have yet to be scheduled. Recounts in seven other races begin Wednesday. Four other Republicans and three Democrats have requested recounts. The deadline for filing a recount request is 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Recounts are open to the public.
