Darrell Lee Roath of Portland was sentenced Wednesday for failing to register as a sex offender after moving from Texas to Maine in 2009.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) _ A 43-year-old Maine man is going to prison for 15 months for failing to register as a sex offender.

Darrell Lee Roath of Portland was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Portland.

According to court records, Roath was convicted in Texas of indecency with a child, requiring him to register as a sex offender after his release from prison.

Roath moved to Maine in 2009 but failed to register as a sex offender in the state. He pleaded guilty to the charge in August.
