Patricia Quinn, Executive Director of the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority seeks federal money for a long-desired extension, while awaiting word on continued federal subsidy money for the Downeaster.

President Obama's new focus on, and money for, passenger trains has opened up some new possibilities for the future of Maine's Downeaster service. But, for the present, passenger rail authority chief Patricia Quinn still has to deal with the uncertainties of Congresional funding for operations, while waiting to hear about requests for some of that new money. Irwin Gratz sat down last week in Quinn's Portland office to talk about all that; you'll hear her mention the F-R-A; that's the Federal Railroad Administration:
