Maine has the potential to be a leader in the clean energy economy. That's according to Assistant U.S. Energy Secretary David Sandalow.
Sandalow was in Maine yesterday to talk to -- and hear from -- business and academic leaders in Portland. His visit was prompted by President Obama's announcement this week of a series of steps designed to boost biofuels production, and reduce America's dependence on foreign oil.
Sandalow said Maine has some of the best off-shore wind resources in the world, tidal resources, hydro power, and forests that can be used to create biofuels.
