Heating oil prices rose a penny in Maine last week, continuing several weeks of stable prices. According to the Governor's Office of Energy Independence and Security, the statewide average cash price of No. 2 heating oil now stands at $2.67 a gallon.
Actual prices varied across the state, with the highest price of $2.85 a gallon found in eastern areas, and the lowest actual price of $2.36 a gallon reported in the southwest. Kerosene is currently selling for $3.04 a gallon, a penny more than last week.
Propane, based on a use of 600 gallons a year, is selling for $2.89 a gallon, a drop of a couple of cents over last week.
