UPDATE: Recovery Resumes for Maine Snowmobilers
01/03/2013 01:58 PM ET

Strong wind and fog delayed the search Thursday morning for three men who are thought to have accidentally ridden into open water Sunday night.

RANGELEY, Maine (AP) _ The Maine Warden Service is resuming recovery efforts for the bodies of three snowmobilers in Rangeley Lake.

Strong wind and fog delayed the search Thursday morning for three men who are thought to have accidentally ridden into open water Sunday night. A 44-year-old Yarmouth woman, riding separately, was also killed Sunday when she plunged into the lake.

The search began at about 11 a.m.

Wardens have recovered gloves and helmets believed to belong to the missing men, and say there are snowmobile tracks that lead to an unfrozen area near the middle of the lake.

Hundreds of family and friends attended a vigil for the men Wednesday night at the Oxford Plains Speedway.

Glenn Henderson of Sabattus, Kenneth Henderson of China, and John Spencer of Litchfield are presumed dead.
