Jury Selection to Begin in Zumba Prostitution Case

There's a pool of 250 potential jurors in the trial of Mark Strong Sr., set to begin Tuesday in York County Superior Court in Alfred.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) _ A judge will soon find out if there are any jurors in a Maine county who aren't tainted by the onslaught of news coverage about a prostitution scandal centered on a Zumba dance studio.

Jury selection is set to begin Tuesday in the trial of the business partner of the Zumba instructor who's accused of using the studio in the seaside town of Kennebunk as a front for prostitution.

There's a pool of 250 potential jurors in the trial of Mark Strong Sr. in York County Superior Court in Alfred. The insurance agent from Thomaston faces 59 misdemeanor counts.

Officials say the process of selecting a jury could take several days. The trial is expected to last two to three weeks.
