Maine Lawmakers Submit 1,780 Bills for Consideration
01/21/2013   Reported By: A.J. Higgins

Maine lawmakers met last week's deadline for submitting bill proposals, but the process for creating new legislation this year is far from over. Although the bulk of the proposed legislation was received by the Maine Revisor of Statutes office on Friday, lawmakers will still receive at least two more opportunities to submit after-deadline bill requests, and legislative committees also have the option of drawing up their own bills during the session. MPBN State House Bureau Chief A.J. Higgins talks with Maine Things Considered host Tom Porter about the process.
