04/10/2013 03:15 PM ET

Authorities say Amy Harris, 34, was killed this morning when her car was struck by an SUV driving south in the northbound lane on Route 4 in Berwick.

Authorities say a mother of two was killed this morning when her car was struck by a vehicle driving in the wrong lane on Route 4 in Berwick.

Amy Harris, 34, was killed in the crash, which occurred at about 8 a.m. Authorities say Harris was driving north on the roadway with her two children in the car when it was struck by an SUV driven by a 17-year-old Biddeford male, who was driving south in the northbound lane.

The 17-year-old driver of the other vehicle and Harris' two children, Lucas, 7, and Abbie, 4, were taken to Wentworth Douglas Hospital in Dover N.H. Harris' son was later flown to Massachusetts General for further evaluation, according to the Portland Press Herald.

Harris was a special education teacher at Vivian E. Hussey School in Berwick, according to a statement on the MSAD 60 Web site. Her son is a second-grade student at the school, according to the posting.

The 17-year-old's name has not been released, but authorities told the paper that he is a student at Berwick Academy.
