The statewide average cash price for No. 2 heating oil fell another three cents a gallon last week, according to the Governor's Energy Office.

Heating oil prices in Maine fell another three cents a gallon, on average, over the past week. That's according to the Governor's Energy Office, which says its weekly heating fuel survey found that the average cash price for No. 2 heating oil now stands at $3.58 a gallon.

Kerosene prices also fell, by an average of 4 cents a gallon, to $4.03. But propane, based on an average annual use of 900 gallons, rose slightly to $2.77 a gallon, 2 cents higher than a week ago.

Actual prices for heating oil ranged from a high of $3.80 a gallon to a low of $3.26 a gallon.

State officials say average heating oil prices haven't been this low in Maine since last August.
