Authorities say a person was thrown overboard when two boats collided on West Grand Lake.

GRAND LAKE STREAM, Maine (AP) _ The search is on for a boater who went missing after a crash on an eastern Maine lake.

A spokesman for the Maine Warden Service says two boats were involved in the crash on West Grand Lake near the town of Grand Lake Stream on Wednesday afternoon.

Two men on board a 16-foot Lund were safe.

But the sole person on board a 14-foot open boat was thrown overboard and is missing.

Several game wardens, the service dive team, and a service aircraft are scheduled to aid in the search Thursday.

No additional details of the crash and no names have been released.
