Officials say the driver, 21-year-old Jessica Worster of Jackman, was killed along with a passenger, 17-year-old Brook Giroux of Moose River.

JACKMAN, Maine (AP) _ Police say speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in a crash that killed two women in northern Maine near the Canadian border.

Lt. Carl Gottardi of the Somerset County Sheriff's Department says the crash happened Wednesday evening near Jackman on a connector road between Route 15 and U.S. 201.

Officials say the driver, 21-year-old Jessica Worster of Jackman, was killed along with a passenger, 17-year-old Brook Giroux of Moose River. Two other passengers were hospitalized: 18-year-old Andrew Carrier of Jackman and 22-year-old Kyle Hoyt of Moose.

Deputies, state troopers, game wardens and Jackman fire and rescue responded to the crash, which remains under investigation.
