Boy Charged in Lewiston Arson Due in Court

The boy is accused of starting a fire in Lewiston in April that destroyed 35 apartments and left dozens of people homeless.

LEWISTON, Maine (AP) _ A lawyer representing a 13-year-old Maine boy on arson charges is seeking his release from a juvenile detention facility.

The boy is accused of starting a fire in Lewiston in April that destroyed 35 apartments and left dozens of people homeless.

WMTW-TV reports that the boy is due in court Monday. Defense attorney Allan Lobozzo is expected to ask the judge to release the boy and to throw out an interview in which the boy admitted to setting the fire.
