Gasoline Prices in Maine Continue to Decline
09/30/2013 03:51 PM ET

A price-monitoring Web site lists the current average price of a gallon of gas in Maine at $3.55, 17 cents lower than a month ago.

Gasoline prices continue their downward trend in Maine, and across the nation. Senior Analyst Greg Laskoski says the average price in Maine is now $3.55 a gallon, down 7 cents in the past week and 17 cents less than a month ago.

Laskoski says supply and demand are working in favor of American consumers, with crude oil prices moving lower, favorable supply, and cheaper winter blend gasoline becoming available in most places in the U.S.

And barring any unforeseen circumstances, Lakoski says he expects the decline to continue. "At least for the month of October we can expect to see prices move another 20 to 25 cents a gallon lower."

Laskoski says the decline trend could continue through the end of the calendar year.
