Potential Suiters Emerge for Bankrupt Maine-Based Rail Company
10/08/2013   Reported By: Tom Porter

Several potential suitors have emerged for the beleaguered Montreal, Maine & Atlantic Railway company. The bankrupt, Maine-based rail operator is facing multiple compensation claims after its involvement in an explosion in Lac Megantic, Quebec, in July, which killed 47 people. Portland-based attorney Robert Keach was appointed trustee of MM&A in August, to oversee the company's bankruptcy. In an interview with Maine Things Considered host Tom Porter, Keach says he expects the auction process to start next month, and says he's encouraged that several companies have already expressed an interest.
