The Spirits That Haunt Maine
11/01/2013   Reported By: Keith Shortall

When former MPBN freelance producer Tom Verde set out to produce a series of radio ghost stories back in the 1980's, the research he did on the subject grew into a book called "Maine Ghosts and Legends." That account has been updated recently with five new chapters, including the story of America's first ghost. Verde spoke with Keith Shortall about the story, which dates to 1799 in the Downeast community of Machiasport, and the home of one Captain Abner Blaisdel.
