Maine Gov. Orders Flags to Half-staff for JFK
11/22/2013 10:14 AM ET

Flags are flying at half-staff in Maine as the nation remembers President John F. Kennedy on the 50th anniversary of his death.

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) _ Gov. Paul LePage directed that U.S. and Maine flags be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Friday, following a proclamation issued by President Barack Obama for the honor to Kennedy.

Kennedy, a native of Massachusetts, was assassinated during a visit to Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963.
