Authorities say it appears that 30-year-old Patrick Milliner shot 22-year-old Matthew Rairdon with a handgun inside Rairdon's apartment just after midnight Saturday before shooting himself.

WESTBROOK, Maine (AP) _ Autopsy results in an apparent murder-suicide in Westbrook, Maine, confirm that one man died from gunshot wounds to the head and chest and the other died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said Monday it appears 30-year-old Patrick Milliner shot 22-year-old Matthew Rairdon with a handgun inside Rairdon's apartment just after midnight Saturday before shooting himself.

Milliner, of South Portland, was a new correctional guard at the Maine Correctional Facility in Windham, and was attending the correctional guard training program at the Maine Justice Academy. McCausland said police are interviewing fellow corrections officers. They also will talk with Cabela's, where Milliner bought the gun Friday.

McCausland said Milliner had left a long, rambling post on Facebook and a note.
