TIF Report: Part 2 - Maine Cities and Towns Using More TIFs to Lure Business

TIF's - or Tax Increment Financing deals - are a form of tax break increasingly offered by Maine cities and towns to lure private business. The Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting has looked into the use of TIFs, why some think they're a bad deal for taxpayers, and how TIF activity has grown. As the center's senior reporter, Naomi Schalit told MPBN's Irwin Gratz that big developers have come to demand TIF tax breaks.
