Couple Faces Drug Charges After Baby's Death and Fire
03/23/2014 4:00 PM ET

A couple in northeastern Maine, whose infant son died the same day their mobile home was destroyed by fire, charged with making methamphetamine.

DANFORTH, Maine (AP) _ The Portland Press Herald reported that 39-year-old Alan Richardson and 30-year-old Tabitha Osnoe of Danforth were arrested Saturday after fire investigators found evidence of a "one-pot" methamphetamine lab in their home. The couple's 5-month-old baby died Friday of unknown causes, and after they brought him to the hospital, their mobile home burned.

Richardson and Osnoe both were charged with Class B trafficking of methamphetamine. It wasn't clear whether they are represented by a lawyer.

State police investigate all deaths of children under age 3. An autopsy was planned to determine how the baby died.
