05/02/2014 01:26 PM ET

Ron Reynolds of Portland says he wants to remind people that the disappearance of his granddaughter, Ayla Reynolds, remains unresolved and that the family wants her home.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) _ The grandfather of missing Maine toddler Ayla Reynolds is posting fliers to draw attention to the case.

Ron Reynolds of Portland says he wants to remind people that the disappearance remains unresolved and that the family wants her home.

The posters have a photo the youngster and the three adults who were in the house on the night she disappeared. Her father, Justin DiPietro, reported her missing from his Waterville home on Dec. 17, 2011.

Reynolds told WGME-TV that he believes Ayla has been ``hidden'' and the family wants answers.

Maine state police said the case remains active and that ``anything to keep Ayla's name in the spotlight is positive.''
