High Wind Watch Issued in Maine, NH

Forecasters are warning of winds up to 40 mph or stronger, with gusts upward of 60 to 65 mph along coastal areas of eastern Maine.

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) _ Forecasters are calling for strong and possibly damaging winds across Maine and New Hampshire.

The National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for much of Maine and parts of New Hampshire beginning Wednesday evening and into Thursday.

Forecasters are calling for sustained winds of 40 mph or stronger, and gusts upward of 60 to 65 mph along coastal areas of eastern Maine.

The weather service says there could be power outages with winds bringing down trees, branches and power lines.
