Jim Dowe, who served as president and CEO of MPBN for six years, has died after a battle with cancer.
Dowe grew up in Turner, Maine, and graduated from the University of Maine. He was a banker for most of his life, and served on a number of boards, including the MPBN board of trustees, which he joined in 1998.
He stepped into the job of president and CEO of MPBN in 2006, guiding the network through the world financial collapse of 2008.
Dowe retired early last year. Jim Dowe is survived by his wife, Jo Ann, daugthers Caitlin and Erika, and son PJ. He was 64 years old.
