David Buchanan is an explorer, but instead of searching for forgotten lands, Buchanan's aim is to re-discover forgotten foods. Buchanan is a Maine-based plant collector, food educator and writer, who grows and cultivates a nursery of lesser known crops. His new book, Taste, Memory: Forgotten Foods, Lost Flavors, and Why They Matter, draws attention to the rich regional diversity of plants overlooked by the mainstream food industry. Buchanan spoke with MPBN News' Tom Porter. |
