| Two men will be arraigned in federal court in Bangor next week on charges they illegally smuggled Narwhal tusks into the U.S. for 10 years. Narwhals are a mysterious, endangered species of whale that lives primarily in the waters of the Canadian High Arctic, and west and east Greenland. Males grow ivory tusks that can spiral counterclockwise to eight feet in length. Smuggled tusks reached Europe as early as the middle ages and are credited with inspiring the unicorn myth. Jay Field joins Ed Morin to talk about the case. |
