02/01/2013 02:13 PM ET

Authorities say two Portland men have died over the past two months from what are thought to have been heroin overdoses.

Portland Police are warning the public about what they describe as "dangerously potent" heroin that's hit the city's streets.

Authorities say two Portland men have died over the past two months from what are thought to have been heroin overdoses, and another 11 people have been treated for overdoses.

Portland police are asking for the public's help in finding the source of the particularly powerful heroin, which they believe is being trafficked in the city.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Portland Police Department.
