Maine Woman Sues Man Charged in Son's Killing
02/07/2013

A 44-year-old Biddeford woman has filed a lawsuit seeking at least $1 million in damages from the landlord who allegedly shot her twice before fatally shooting her teenage son and her son's girlfriend.

ALFRED, Maine (AP) _ The Portland Press Herald says Susan Johnson has filed a 22-page complaint against 74-year-old James Pak and his wife, Armit Pak, for intentional infliction of emotional distress and other counts stemming from the Dec. 29 shootings and months of harassment leading up to that day.

Pak is charged with murder in the deaths of 19-year-old Derrick Thompson and his girlfriend, 18-year-old Alivia Welch. Johnson and her son rented an apartment connected to Pak's house in Biddeford.

Police say Pak shot the three inside the apartment following an argument about late rent, snow shoveling and parking.
