Dr. Julie Ziffer

In astronomical terms it counts as a near-miss. Friday afternoon February 15 an asteroid called DA 14 will come within a few thousand miles of Earth. It's an unprecedented event and scientists are excited. Dr. Julie Ziffer is an astronomy lecturer at the University of Southern Maine who specializes in the study of asteroids. She said although DA 14 is coming close to Earth, don't panic, there's no chance of a collision.
