The Maine Warden Service says Nicholas Joy, 17, of Medford, Mass., was reported missing Sunday afternoon by family members.

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine (AP) _ Dozens of searchers are continuing to comb western Maine's Sugarloaf ski mountain for a 17-year-old skier who went missing during a family ski outing.

The Maine Warden Service says Nicholas Joy of Medford, Mass., was reported missing Sunday afternoon by family members.

The Sugarloaf ski patrol, game wardens and others are searching on skis, snowshoes and snowmobiles. The search began late Sunday afternoon and continued into the overnight hours before resuming at first light Monday.

Warden Service spokesman Doug Rafferty says wardens are reporting poor visibility on the mountain because of high winds and blowing snow.

Sugarloaf officials say Joy was skiing with his father Sunday morning and was last seen near Timberline, an easier trail on the west side of the mountain.
