BIW Seeks Tax Incentives for Improvements
08/02/2013 04:24 PM ET

Bath Iron Works is planning major improvements at its midcoast shipyard. The General Dynamics-owned facility wants to upgrade existing facilities, remove several old buildings and new add ones. But it's going to require tax incentives from the city of Bath for it all to happen. BIW laid out its broad aims in a briefing paper sent to the Bath City Council today. The aim, says BIW spokesman Jim DeMartini, is to stay competitive. DeMartini speaks with Maine Things Considered host Tom Porter.
