Maine Sen. Angus King is urging Congress to consider measures that would make it harder for the the president to order lethal drone strikes in foreign countries against U.S. citizens who are thought to be terrorists. In a letter to the chair and vice-chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence - on which he also sits - the independent senator said he was concerned about the "lack of appropriate checks and balances in developing a legal framework for potential use of lethal force against a United States citizen." King told Maine Things Considered host Tom Porter that the letter is a follow-up to questions he asked yesterday at the confirmation hearing of John Brennan, the president's nominee to lead the CIA.
