Although voters will wait a little more than 15 months to cast a ballot for Maine's next governor, candidates are moving forward with fundraising efforts according to reports filed with the state ethics commission. Getting out in front in the cash-raising competition is important for candidates because it allows them to demonstrate their viability as well as show off influential supporters early in the race.
