Woman Hit by 12-foot Tree Limb in Maine

Authorities say the limb fell 25 to 30 feet and struck the 30-year-old woman on the head before it broke.

LEBANON, Maine (AP) _ A woman is recovering after a 12-foot-long tree limb fell and hit her on the head in Lebanon, Maine.

Foster's Daily Democrat reports police said the limb fell 25 to 30 feet and struck the 30-year-old woman on the head before it broke. Police say she suffered a head injury, but it's not believed to be life-threatening.

Rescue Assistant Chief Jason Cole said the wind had picked up and was at about 15 to 20 mph just before the accident. He said there were a few dead tree limbs on the tree.
