Witchcraft Today: No Scary Evil Spells
10/25/2013   Reported By: Keith Shortall

With Halloween less than a week away, news media are apt to focus some attention on subjects that they believe the public finds "scary," including the practice of witchcraft. But Marilyn Pukkila, who teaches a course on the religion of contemporary witchcraft at Colby College, says there's nothing at all frightening about the tradition, which she says has long been maligned and misunderstood. Pukkila, who will give a free public lecture on the topic at Bowdoin College on Monday night, spoke earlier today with Keith Shortall.
