It's the second time in a week that a Cumberland County Jail officer has been arrested.

A Cumberland County Jail guard has been charged with two counts of gross sexual assault for having sex with a female inmate at the facility.

Gerald Gilbert, Jr., 41, of South Portland, was arrested today after an investigation involving another guard brought the alleged incidents to light, officials say.

Last week, corrections officer Toby Post was arrested on drug trafficking charges, after authorities say he attempted to bring drugs into the jail for an inmate.

Gilbert, who has worked at the jail since 2007, is out on $5,000 bail and is scheduled to be in court on March 10.  He is currently on paid administrative leave.
