Authorities say an arrest warrant for attempted murder and arson has been lodged against 24-year-old Oscar "Shorty'' Nunez, who's in jail in Massachusetts.

BANGOR, Maine (AP) _ Maine law enforcement officials say an arrest warrant has been issued for a Verona Island man accused of trying to kill an Orrington man and setting his house on fire in what's described as a drug dealer dispute.

Penobscot County District Attorney Christopher Almy said Thursday that an arrest warrant for attempted murder and arson has been lodged against 24-year-old Oscar "Shorty'' Nunez, who's in jail in Massachusetts.

Police say Nunez poured gasoline on the house and set it afire but no one was hurt. That was preceded by another incident in which Nunez allegedly threated the home's occupant and his son by putting a gun to their heads.

Police say 46-year-old David Ireland of Orrington was arrested for drug trafficking. Nunez also is jailed for drug-trafficking charges in Massachusetts.
