Maine has once again won high marks for addressing the dental health of children.

The Pew Center on the States, awarded Maine an "A" grade, and Maine Dental Association executive Director Cindy Sullivan says its a notable achievement.

"We were one of only two states that achieved the maximum points possible, we do understand that even with these high marks theres a lot of work to be done, but we're thrilled and we're one of only states that got an "A" two years in a row," said Sullivan.

The latest Pew report, released Tuesday, ranked states on four criteria that measure efforts to provide more children with access to dental sealants, which Sullivan says is a highly effective method of preventing tooth decay.
