Freeport Man Hurt in Snowmobile Crash

The Maine Warden Service says 56-year-old Robin Lowell remained in Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston on Sunday after being injured Friday when his sled struck multiple trees.

LEWISTON, Maine (AP) _ A Freeport man seriously injured in a snowmobile accident in remote northwest Maine remains in the hospital in critical condition.

The Maine Warden Service says 56-year-old Robin Lowell remained in Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston on Sunday.

Lowell was injured Friday night in Johnson Mountain Township in Somerset County.

The Warden Service tells the Morning Sentinel that Lowell went off the trail and struck multiple trees.

He was driven seven miles by snowmobile rescue sled to a lodge in Parlin Pond Township before being flown to the hospital.
